Inspiration

Who is John Galt?
Why ask the questions that have no answers? Is it not because people are unwilling to go against the norm, or to accept that not everything has an answer? This question is posed in the book by Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged"!

I am reading this novel at the moment. I read the repetition of this question throughout and I wonder if it provided an excuse for ignorance. I wonder if such a statement enables one protection from questioning the status quo.

I am looking to the relevance of issues of SECURITY that are directly effecting my life at this moment. I am moving house and I am losing the sense of security of what I know - the familiarity of routine.

I am also entering a new relationship. Although I am forging new security, I am also sacrificing a level of emotional security i.e. my singledom.

I have started a new job and I am establishing my role, learning new processes and adapting my skills. This is also a transitional state of SECURITY.

Although I am reflecting on this, i am also conscious of the need to not present this information literally. Maybe the concept of DISPLACEMENT or change and how it partains to security. How do I portray this visually? Why is it necessary?

Maybe i could portray WHAT IS HOME? SECURITY! Some people crave stability and this brings comfort. Some prefer change and this is there SECURITY. Mainly it is a state of situatedness - for every SECURE action - there is probably an INVERSE INSECURE action (that may affect the individual or the environment). maybe the concept of the dual nature of SECURITY - ambiguity!

hmmmm... I am thinking too much. More importantly, how will I represent as a digital media art piece? What will be my intention? What technical choices will I make?
